Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans
Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP) are important for todays agriculture to preserve our water sources. To build a quality CNMP you need to have several items:
- Good understanding of potential resource concerns especially soil erosion, water qualitiy and air quality.
- Site visits
- Addressing resource concerns for Crop and Pasture Areas on your farm
- Up to date soil tests for all fields that are receiving manure
- 5 year crop rotation for the fields receiving manure
- Do follow up visits for additional questions or concerns

Nutrient Management Plans (NMP) were created to manage the amount of nutrients getting placed on farm fields. Why should you consider a Nutrient Management Plan:
- Adequately supply nutrient for plant production
- Properly utilizing plant nutrients being placed on the plant
- Improving the condition of the soil

Manure Storage Facility
Got excess manure? Don’t always have ideal spreading conditions? Have you ever thought about a manure storage facility? Interested? Here are the guidelines:
- Potential funding through EQIP with our partner NRCS
- Assisting producers with the engineering and design of manure storage facilities
- Comprehensive nutrient management plan needed for NRCS funding
- Livestock must be on the property where you plan to build the facility
