Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans

Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP) are important for todays agriculture to preserve our water sources.  To build a quality CNMP you need to have several items:

  • Good understanding of potential resource concerns; especially soil erosion, water quality and air quality.
  • Addressing resource concerns for crop and pasture areas on your farm.
  • Up to date soil tests for all fields that are receiving manure.
  • Five-year crop rotation for the fields receiving manure.
  • Site Visits
  • Follow up visits for additional questions or concerns.

Nutrient Management Plans

Nutrient Management Plans (NMP) were created to manage the amount of nutrients getting placed on farm fields. Why should you consider a Nutrient Management Plan:

  • Adequately supply nutrients for plant production.
  • Properly utilize plant nutrients being placed on the plant.
  • Improved soil condition.
